NEUROPATHY CARE IN SHAWNEE

A Neuropathy Evaluation

We start by asking why, then explain what we find in plain English.

At your evaluation you'll learn:

  • Why your neuropathy is happening
  • Whether it's a nerve problem, a circulation problem, or both
  • What may help keep it from getting worse
  • Care options beyond another prescription

Understanding neuropathy: what it is and why it happens

Neuropathy means the nerves are damaged or not working the way they should. It shows up most often in the feet, and sometimes in the hands.

It can come from diabetes, a pinched nerve in the spine, chemotherapy or an injury. In about 30% of cases, no clear cause is ever found. It can start as mild tingling or burning and grow into pain that gets in the way of everyday life.

Beyond the pain, it often brings numbness, so it's hard to feel your feet. It can throw off your balance too.

Two main types

Metabolic

Something like blood sugar, circulation, low vitamins or certain medications keeps the nerves from getting what they need.

Compression

A nerve is getting pinched somewhere along the way, often in the low back or near the ankle.

Which one it is changes how it should be treated. That's why we test before we treat.

What happens if neuropathy isn't addressed?

As it moves along, the biggest worry isn't only the discomfort. It's losing feeling.

People slowly lose the ability to feel:

That raises the risk of a fall. Many people start doing less because moving doesn't feel safe, and little by little they pull back from the things and the people they love.

Our approach is different

Most people we see have already tried medications, quick visits and short-term fixes. Those can quiet things down for a while, but they don't tell you why it's happening.

We don't guess. We test.

The LifeWorks exam looks for what's behind your neuropathy and how much the nerves are affected. Then we build a plan around you, not a one-size-fits-all program.

You decide

Your findings in plain English, and a plan or an honest answer.

One plan, built around what we find

Depending on your evaluation, your plan may include:

A bare foot with an electrotherapy pad

Calm things down

  • Electrotherapy, which may help calm nerve pain
  • Red light therapy, which may help circulation in the feet and legs
Supplements with fresh lemon and ginger

Support the nerves

  • Regenerative medicine
  • Advanced peptide therapy
  • Targeted nutrient therapy
  • Simple diet changes

Get steadier on your feet

  • Balance work
  • Strength work
  • Things you can do at home

What we work toward: sleeping through the night, walking with confidence, and getting down on the floor with the grandkids and back up again.
